Welcome 2016 you Son of a Gun

So 2016 eh? I may be a bit late in sharing my opinions, hopes and plans for this coming year as I experienced an unplanned break from blogging. I had a grand holiday don’t get me wrong, I visited family, was blessed in receiving many beautiful gifts and enjoyed a 2016new years vacation inside a vacation to a cabin far out of town with my love. All in all, it was a beautiful and relaxing vacation. Minus of course those 3 days in which all of the joy left my poor deflated heart  (being a bit dramatic) when I was tortured with the stomach flu. Being sick during anytime sucks, however being sick during Christmas is a bummer that one may find particularly depressing.

Following up to Christmas is the start of this year, which has already shown a number of challenges. But not to worry after celebrating my birthday on January 11th I feel that the winds are slowly beginning to change. Perhaps I will now be steering on a new jubilant course. After all, I am now a whole year wiser and with that wisdom must come some advantages? Let’s hope so anyway, bring on the brighter days!

So what is the plan for this fresh new chapter of life? Well it is hard to say it all at the beginning isn’t it? How can you write the plans for the future while it is so far from the present? Do you get what I am saying? What I mean is it is difficult to plan my year ahead or some resolutions so far in advance. However as I am one of those people. Those people being the planning, list making, goal-inducing kind. I will carry on and share some of my hopes for the year ahead. So here are some of those hopes and plans, although not all as i am keeping many to myself. Wish me luck!

2016 Plans and Resolutions

Read 30 books

I like a good challenge and as the planned theme of this year will joyfully consist of saving funds and enriching my mind I can’t think of a better way to do that then to bury my nose in a book… or 30 . I am currently reading Anne Frank which I am burning through, I can’t believe I went my entire life without reading it. If you would like to follow along on my reading adventures you can check me out on Goodreads. I would like to add that I am wide open to suggestions so if you have recommendations on books to read please let me know, I like a little bit of everything.

Travel to Belgium

If you read my blog you may know I have been planning this trip for some time now and I am inches away from buying the ticket! Hooray!! Again I look to you… If you have ever traveled to Belgium or Amsterdam please share with me your thoughts or suggestions.

Save $$$$

I have a money saving goal this year, and as I would for now like to keep that goal to myself, I still thought it wise to share with you, my plan to do so. I need some accountability in my life! After all, now that I am the ripe old age of 27 I think it fitting to start becoming more financially savvy. I am so mature…

Be healthier

I have struggled with the idea of even making this a resolution or a goal if only for the simple fact that the whole world seems to struggle with this and so many fail. Those statistics scare me, so I shied away. However, this is a very real goal that I wish to work towards and I have been gradually becoming healthier throughout the years so I want to keep with that trend. I don’t wish to loose weight or become a vegetarian, just eat better and be more active that is all. Sounds achievable.

Blog Plans

I have plans this year to keep myself blogging. This place has been such a refuge for me, helping me vent, and release all of those inward thoughts and emotions that often bubble up in myself. This blog has helped me stay positive and on track. It has introduced me to so many beautiful like minded people and I am in love with the lessons learned and the opinions we have shared. For my own personal benefit ScaleSimple will be chugging along full steam and who knows where we will end up. I hope to see you all along the journey!

What are your plans this year?

Welcome back, and happy birthday! 🙂

I didn’t sit down and make goals for the year, but I’ve been meaning to. I’ve just been busy, and preoccupied with other things on my mind… but maybe if I were to sit down and make goals, that would help with some of this preoccupation. So I’ll get back to you on that.

I hope your year goes well!

Thanks you! Taking a minute to think about what you want or the year ahead can be very motivating 🙂

Sounds good 🙂 I am thinking of putting my thoughts around this new year ( I am reluctant to call it resolutions) together for quite a time by now, I have a feeling I´m the last one to do so 😀

Your plans for 2016 are great! I just finished reading Stephen King’s ‘On Writing,’ and if you haven’t already gotten to that book, you should definitely check it out. Good luck with your goals, ScaleSimple, and keep writing!

Hey, we share similar goals! So naturally I find them awesome 🙂 I became a bit ambitious with my reading goal however, in the first of the year a book a week sounded reasonable, so of course I made a 52 book list for 2016. Oye. Your choice of 30 just feels much better. Best of luck with 2016, despite its rocky start

    • StephJ | 4th Feb 16

Thanks you! Yes I feel like 30 books is still a high goal but a bit more doable. haha. Are you on Goodreads? That is where I am tracking my reads, I would follow you if you were on there. Thank you for the well wishes. Happy reading!
