March Goals

Hello, everyone!march

I am excited to be writing this post! The last monthly goals post I wrote was in March of 2016. Woah time flies!

I wanted to get back into the swing of writing these little monthly goals posts because while I was looking at last years posts I felt rather nostalgic to see the plans and things I was up to back then. These kinds of posts are not only a great way to hold yourself accountable but also fun to look back upon.

So seeing how March 1st is the traditional beginning of the new year I figured now is as good a time as any for new beginnings.

So here it goes…

March Goals 2017

    1. Finish reading 3 books: This may seem like a lot but I am almost finished Hero of the Empire: The Boer War, a Daring Escape, and the Making of Winston Churchill and The Highly Sensitive Person in Love. I need to pick up the pace on my reading as I am already behind on my own reading challenge.  Yikes!
    2. Juicing detox: I have been interested in trying a juicing detox to reboot my system for a while now. I want to make this a priority for some time in the month of March.
    3. Meditate every day: I have been slacking a little on my daily meditations, so I am committing to at least 10 minutes a day.
    4. Journal every day: The Five Minute Journal, is an amazing way to maintain a daily gratitude practice and something I need to get back into!
    5. No shopping month: Have you heard of a no spend month? It is a new concept to me but I am going to give it a go. I have a shopping problem and this is going to be a good exercise to help me with that. Wish me luck!
    6. Spring cleaning: Now is a good time to go through all of my things and freshen up my apartment for the spring. Donate clothes, beauty products and throw away the useless things I don’t need.
    7. Complete the March #SYBLspring challenge: Check out Show Your Blog Love on Instagram to join in on this Instagram challenge. I have yet to finish a full month. So I am going to try and stick with it this time around!

I may be biting off more than I can chew with all of these but I am trying to make up for lost time and keep myself busy as the past few winter months basically consisted of hibernation.

Happy March everyone!

Good time for new goals at start of lent. I’m thinking about homelessness over lent. First day of lent: 1st March 2017 Contemplating Homelessness
Over the last year I have become increasingly aware of those apparently living on the streets in Sheffield. An e-mail to Sheffield council confirmed …

Hopefully spring is about to start.

Good to have goals and I found it interesting that you are reading a book about Winston Churchill, who was my blog’s Extraordinary Person of the Week.

Awesome! I love Winston he is a inspiration to me!

We sure do understand the importance of motivation. If we can say you are doing a fantastic job. Keep on keepin on.

I’m juicing now!!! I’ve been interested in doing it and I finally just did it. I’ve experienced so much for the 5 days so far: serious food cravings, clarity and focus, reduced pain in my menstrual cramps, learning how to juice by hand and try different recipes to see what tastes good together. It’s fun. I’m thinking about doing it once per month.

I used to journal all the time when I was younger and sparadically until now. Now I try to journal every night about things I am grateful for and giving myself advice. It has got me thinking throughout the day about different situations I experienced that I can write in my journal. I also journal my juicing experience.

    • StephJ | 1st Mar 17

Oh wow! I am excited to try it out now. Have you been doing just juice or some food as well? I would like to try a strictly juice only detox for 7 days. It seems really ambitious for me because I have the worst willpower. I am excited to get into the journaling again. Thanks for sharing let me know how the juicing goes as you continue. 😊

      • Hey Miss Jackson | 2nd Mar 17

Yes it is great for strengthening your self-discipline. Somebody brought pasties to my job and I just acted like I didn’t see them, even though I wanted them badly lol.

I’m only drinking juice and protein shakes. No food. I just made a veggie broth since I’m tired of the same tastes everyday. And note juice, not smoothie. Once I blend my veggies I pour it into a bowl covered with a cheesecloth and squeeze the juice out of the blended contents.

The human body exerts energy when digesting, but with juice there’s nothing to digest so the nutrients go directly to where it’s needed.

        • StephJ | 2nd Mar 17

Oh very interesting! How long do you plan on keeping it going?

          • Hey Miss Jackson | 2nd Mar 17

Just 7 days. I’m on Day 6! So proud if myself. I’m following a meal plan so after Day 7 I slowly introduce healthy food but all sugarless. It’s 84 days long.

          • StephJ | 2nd Mar 17

That is exactly what I am thinking of doing! Feeling inspired now! 🙂

      • Hey Miss Jackson | 2nd Mar 17

        I will update you!

Aww I’m so glad. The meal plan is specifically for Candida overgrowth (aka yeast infections) which 75% of women in the US have or have had. Men get it too in the gut (beer belly). It’s called HealCandidaNow and I got it throught It was $39. Let me know if that link works because it wasn’t loading for me. If you don’t want to do that there are a bunch of juice recipes out there.

I love your goal to meditate everyday.

    • StephJ | 1st Mar 17

Thank you! I was doing it daily for months and it was perfect. I have found recently as I have been slacking that I am less sharp, calm and balanced. So I have to get back into the swing of things. 😊

Sounds like some great goals there!
