Goodbye for now – NaNoWriMo

Can you believe that October is almost over? Can you believe that NaNoWriMo is almost here?

I am in a little bit of shock over here. After watching all the horror movies and reading all the spooky tales, I feel like I enjoyed this month to it’s fullest. However, I am still a little sad to see it go. I just love October!

But it is not all snots and tears. With the ending of October, this can only mean that November is almost here.  Oh yes, that is how the almighty calendar works!

And for me, November can only mean one thing. NaNoWriMo!

Yes, November is national novel writers month and I will be committing myself to the trials and tribulations of the creative art of writing once again.

Last year was my first time participating and I was successful in writing my 50,000 words in 30 days. An accomplishment of its own really. I literally decided to participate in NaNoWriMo on the day it started, with no idea on what to write or even where to begin.

But I did it! With lots of commitment, I reached my goal and was successful in writing a somewhat coherent novel with characters, twists and terrible grammar. Yay me!

NaNoWriMo was so much fun that I knew I wanted to do it all again. So for the past year, I have been collecting ideas and preparing myself for the race of words that awaits me in November.

A few weeks ago I finally had the light bulb moment I was waiting for. After months of brainstorming, the story, I had been searching for finally dropped into my head.

It was a thrilling moment. I grabbed my phone and feverishly began writing the characters, storyline, everything.

Going into this NaNoWriMo with a story I am excited about is so liberating and stimulating. I can not wait to sit in a coffee shop, curl up on the couch, hide away and hammer out this story.

But hey, not to worry there will still be lots of content coming up on the old blog!

I have lined up some awesome guest bloggers for the month of November and I look forward to introducing you to the variety of posts that will be coming your way.

If you are participating in NaNoWriMo please add me as a buddy- StephanieJParrell. I would love to have some writing pals!

Stay tuned for a status report on how I do with my novel writing goals at the end of November.

Wish me luck!

I cannot believe it’s November. It is crazy how fast this year went by. I really really need it to slow down. My kids are growing too fast and I don’t like it! I hope you do good on your novel and I can’t wait to hear more about it.

I would love to read Hilda’s comic. I’d like to see how adventurous and outgoing she is. She reminds me of my niece- playful, messes things up, but makes up her mistakes.
