Sweater Weather – Favorites

Sweater Weather

This tag seems to be popping up everywhere on the blog scene and I have to admit, it has grabbed my attention on more than one occasion. I was, however, unsure if I should give it a go until I was nominated by Smitha Easter to complete it. It seems as though the nomination was the tipping point, so thank you again Smitha Easter for the nomination!

The Rules are simple, answer the questions below, tag the person who nominated you and tag some of your favorite blogs, prompting them to complete the “sweater weather tag” for themselves. Usually commenting on their blog is the best way to send the invite.

Well here it goes, some of my “favorites” of fall.

Favorite Candle Scent: Vanilla anything. But to be specific most recently I have tried this FRENCH VANILLA Scented Jar Candle and I have been loving it. It smells so good, looks cute and who doesn’t love online shopping?

Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate: I love all of them for different reasons but coffee is my main addiction. Tea (green) when I am sick, and Hot Chocolate when I am in a cozy kind of mood. So there will be lots of cozy hot chocolate drinking this fall.

What is the best fall memory you have? Fall is a symbolic time of year for me, it seems to be a time for new beginnings, a time to start over. I can not choose one favorite memory as there are so many. However my memory in Paris, France last fall is certainly a favorite. It was so beautiful to be their city during that time of year with all of the leaves changing colors, it added more beauty to an already flawless place.

Best Fragrance for Fall: Jor’el Parker Classico I received this product in my monthly makeup bag from Ipsy a little while ago and I have to say I really enjoy it. It’s sweet and refreshing.

Favorite Thanksgiving Food: I would have to commit to saying Turkey dinner. As I have a small family it is not every year that we actually cook a thanksgiving dinner (sad I know) but when we do I am extra thankful for all of that turkey. Yum!

Most Worn Sweater: I have this XXL gray men’s sweater that I absolutely love. I would wear it every day if it was socially acceptable. It’s warm, goes perfectly with all of my scarfs and did I mention it’s an XXL? All hail the over-sized sweater!

Football games or jumping in leaf piles? Leaf piles! Football isn’t that big of a deal around these parts.

Favorite Type of Pie: Apple! I plan on trying to make a pie at some point in my life… at some point.

What is autumn weather like where you live? It depends on the year. The weather here is very unpredictable, but often times it can be the nicest time of year, with beautiful sunsets and relatively mild weather. That is of course if we don’t get many hurricanes or any snow. (Which does happen)

Which makeup trend do you prefer, dark lips or winged liner?
Personally, I love the winged liner, especially when I manage to get it right. I also love the dark lip trend, I think it looks sharp and sophisticated. However I am still not brave enough to try it out for myself, I feel like it doesn’t suit me. So, for now, I will just appreciate this trend on others.

What song really gets you into the fall spirit? Maybe Wake me up when September ends by GreenDay this might be unoriginal, but come on it has September in the title. A song like that can’t help but remind you of fall.. am I right?

Is pumpkin spice worth the hype? I will neither confirm nor deny this. I don’t think I have given it a fair shot to make an accurate and full opinion on the subject. However, I will  say that it is a huge trend… I mean did anyone even care about pumpkin spice 5 years ago? I think not.

Favorite Fall TV Show: The Walking Dead. I love this show! Especially the first few seasons, and the fact that it restarts in fall and it is about zombies pretty much makes it the best fall show in my books.

Skinny jeans or leggings? Leggings all day every day. I mean it, I wear leggings every day, or as many days as I can get away with it. I love skinny jeans also but leggings are so comfy, and I am not about to deny myself of comfort.

Combat boots or Uggs? I like both but have neither.

Halloween – Yay or Nay?
Yay! Bring on the spooky vibes. I am ready for the binge watching of HalloweenA Nightmare on Elm Street and Chucky along with a few others. And one can not forget about the excessive consumption of chocolate and candy that is originally intended for trick or treaters but always manages to end up in my stomach. Halloween at it’s finest.

Fall mornings or evenings? As mentioned we get some of the best sunsets in fall making the evenings colorful and crisp.

What do you think about Black Friday? I actually took part in Black Friday last year. Rushing to Target at 5:00am. Was it worth it? Kind of, I did get “some” deals. And what an adrenaline rush! But I don’t think I will partake in that kind of madness again.

One Fall 2015 Trend You Love: I feel like fashion is becoming more and more 70’s oriented. Which I am happy with, I like the hippie vibe, bright colors, large patterns, flare. I like them all, I may not rock them all but I certainly like them. As for me, I will be on the look out for the perfect sweater dress for this fall, and maybe even some flare jeans? If I dare.

So there you have it my fall “favorites”. I hope it got you in the fall spirit, it sure did the trick for me. I have decided to nominate some recent blogs I have had the chance to explore. I am liking these blogs a lot and I hope you guys find some time to complete this rather festive tag. Happy October everyone and happy writing!

  1. As I read your post, I realised how awesome it would be if we could share smells in blog posts. The vanilla-scented candle with hot chocolate and apple pie… It sounds like olfactory heaven! And I’m curious about the fragrance you mentioned.

Thank you for tagging me, I really enjoyed doing this and it definitely got me in the fall spirit.

  2. Oh, Canada, with your massive shifts in temperature. Fall here in New Orleans just means a break form summer, and we’re all just fine with that. Still, those shifting leaves look mighty gorgeous. Enjoy the season.
